Beginning Data Collecting

Updated: Jul 10, 2019

To begin their research, the Flint River Ecology Study spends the beginning of the day electrofishing for nearly 2 hours. After that is complete the team begins cast net fishing in deeper waters, about 30 casts per person. Each fish has some type of data that must be collected such as- weight, length, tag, and scale sample, then they are released back into the Flint River. This data will be used later in the study to determine the rivers quality and hydrology.
